Job description

WE’RE HIRING: TEACHING ASSISTANTS – LLANELLI

If you celebrate small wins, aren’t afraid of glitter or glue sticks… this might be your perfect job.

This isn’t just a job — it’s a ripple effect.

A quiet “I get it now.”
A breakthrough moment that changes a child’s day.
A learner who believes in themselves because you believed first.
If meaningful work motivates you, you’ll fit right in.

⭐ WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY DO

You’ll support pupils in class by helping them understand tasks, build confidence, and make progress — whether working 1:1, in small groups, or with the whole class. You’ll assist with reading, writing, phonics, maths, and practical activities; help children with additional learning needs by following guidance; and maintain a positive, calm environment. You’ll prepare resources, support behaviour, keep the classroom organised, and bring patience, humour, and encouragement to every day.

WHO WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM

We actively encourage applications from people with backgrounds in:

  • Care (support workers, carers, residential care, social care)
  • Babysitting / childcare
  • Coaching (sports coaches, group leaders, youth coaches, activity leaders)
  • Personal lived experience supporting children, siblings, or family members
  • Youth work, play work, mentoring, or other people-focused roles

These skills translate brilliantly into classroom support.
Experience is highly desirable, and experience with additional learning needs (ALN) is a massive bonus.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU

  • Your own transport and ability to travel up to 30 minutes
  • Reliability — pupils thrive on consistency
  • Patience, empathy, and a warm approach
  • Ability to follow safeguarding procedures
  • Teamwork and clear communication
  • Flexibility — schools and children change fast
  • A willingness to learn and grow in the role

WHAT YOU GET FROM US

  • Supportive schools that value their TAs
  • Training and development opportunities
  • Experience across different classes and needs
  • Work that feels meaningful, uplifting, and sometimes glitter-covered
