Teaching Personnel is seeking an experienced and dedicated Class Teacher to join a specialist educational setting in the Yeovil area from September 2026, with the possibility of an earlier start for the right candidate.
This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding educator who is passionate about supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
We are looking for someone who thrives in a nurturing environment and has the confidence and experience to make an immediate impact due to the complex needs of the students.
The Role
As a Class Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging and personalised learning experiences that enable pupils to achieve both academically and personally.
- Planning and delivering differentiated lessons that meet individual learning needs.
- Creating a safe, inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
- Supporting pupils with additional needs, including SEN and SEMH.
- Managing behaviour positively and implementing individual support strategies.
- Monitoring progress and adapting teaching approaches accordingly.
- Working closely with support staff, families and external professionals.
- Encouraging independence, confidence and resilience in every learner.
- Contributing to Education, Health and Care Plan targets and reviews.
What We're Looking For
Due to the needs of the pupils, we are seeking an experienced professional who can hit the ground running from day one.
- Previous experience teaching within SEN, SEMH or alternative provision settings.
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
- A creative and adaptable teaching style.
- Strong communication and organisational abilities.
- A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
