Teaching Personnel are seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work across a diverse range of schools in Bristol, offering academic, social and emotional support to young people whilst gaining invaluable skills in a competitive job market.
Job Duties:
- Provide support to secondary school students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in their academic and personal development
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning plans for SEN students
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Support students in accessing the curriculum and engaging with learning activities
- Monitor and record student progress and behaviour
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
- Genuine passion for supporting young people
- Knowledge of SEN strategies and support techniques (or willingness to learn)
Education:
Relevant qualification in Education or Special Educational Needs (SEN) is desirable.
Experience:
Prior experience working in a school setting or with SEN students is advantageous.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of SEN support methods
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- Patience and empathy towards students with SEN
Working Conditions:
- Work primarily within secondary school settings
- School term time schedule, Mon - Fri, 8.30am - 3.30pm
- Collaborate closely with teaching staff and SEN coordinators
- Opportunity for professional development and training

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
