The Role
The school is seeking to appoint a committed, knowledgeable, and adaptable Business Studies Teacher to join its established teaching team from September. This role offers an opportunity to deliver a broad and engaging Business Studies curriculum to secondary-aged students with diverse learning profiles.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating high-quality lessons that are appropriately differentiated to meet a range of needs. The role requires a reflective practitioner who can employ creative and flexible teaching strategies to engage students, promote independence, and support the development of essential life and employability skills.
Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver well-structured and differentiated Business Studies lessons in line with curriculum requirements

Adapt schemes of work and teaching resources to meet the individual needs of students with SEND

Assess, record, and report on student progress in accordance with school policies

Set clear learning objectives and provide constructive feedback to support student achievement

Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment conducive to learning

Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other professionals to support student outcomes

Contribute to annual reviews, EHCP targets, and wider school reporting processes where appropriate

Support students’ personal development, including the development of social, emotional, and employability skills

Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and promote the welfare of all students
Person Specification
Essential:
-
Experience teaching Business Studies at secondary level
-
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate learners with diverse needs

Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
-
A commitment to inclusive education and supporting students with SEND
Desirable:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
-
Experience working within a SEND or alternative provision setting

Knowledge of EHCP processes and personalised learning approaches
