A college in Tameside is looking for an experienced Business Teacher to join the teaching staff, on a full time basis. The required individual will be proficient in the delivery of Business Level 2/3 BTEC. It is crucial that the individual is able to also competently deliver Accounting A-Level lessons. Please note that holding QTS is required. Those who are educated to degree level in Business/Accounting/and or a related subject, are encouraged to apply. Previous experience working within a secondary school or college is also essential.  As a full time member of the teaching staff, it is vital that the applicant is able to work well as part of a team, as well as consistently deliver quality lessons to ensure that students continue to achieve high grades. Being able to successfully differentiate learning to meet the needs of those with SEN is also very important. This position is a full time role, which will commence after the Easter break in April.

Key aspects of this role include:

  • Working at a successful Sixth Form college ranked ‘Good’ by Ofsted, as well as being ranked as the highest achieving college in the borough for student progress.
  • Teaching students who have been commended by Ofsted as displaying “high standards of behaviour”.
  • Receiving constant support through regular training and personal development, through rigorous performance management from senior leaders and managers. Individualised training takes place on a consistent basis.
  • Joining an increasingly successful teaching department, where students currently hold a 100% pass rate within the given subject area.
  • With regards to attainment, the figure is around 90% of students achieving grades considered to be ‘high grades’.
  • Becoming a part of the teaching staff praised by Ofsted for their attention in the preparation of students for later life.
  • Pay – between GBP24,373 and GBP40,490 annually, dependant on previous experience.

The school is located in Tameside, a short distance away from Manchester city centre. There are several motorway links allowing ease of access to the college for those that drive. Additionally, there are numerous public transport links such as the Metrolink and train stations within very close proximity.
