British Sign Language – Teaching Assistant
A mainstream school in Chesterfield are currently looking for a long-term SEN Teaching Assistant to start immediately. The candidate must hold a Level 3 qualification in BSL (British Sign Language) and the candidate must be able to communicate with non-signing staff. Working as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be required to support a student within the classroom settings and be committed to supporting their academic development in a patient and caring manner.
The desired candidate will have the following:
- Level 3 Qualification in British Sign Language
- Experience within SEN and/or educational environments
- Dedication to safeguarding pupils
- Enthusiastic and motivational personality
- Any relevant experience with PECS and Makaton
The school is looking for a motivational and friendly SEN Teaching Assistant who is dedicated to genuinely making a difference to the lives of children. This opportunity will be an amazing start for anybody who wishes to pursue a rewarding career within SEN.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
