One of Teaching Personnel’s client schools in Stockport is seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to join the support staff team on an initial temporary basis in September. In order to be considered for this position, the following is required:

  • A degree or qualifications such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification.
  • The ability to confidently manage student behaviour, both within a classroom setting as well as around the school site.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.

The role will involve the applicant reporting directly to the SLT member who is responsible for Behaviour standards within the school. This contact will be able to provide full training to the applicant, and will offer full support and guidance in order to prepare the candidate as effectively as possible.

The school has a number of students who are either disengaged from the mainstream process or who display more challenging behaviour. The role will involve looking to re-engage these students by providing consistent 1:1 support. This includes working on a pastoral basis, looking to develop strong relationships in order to positively affect student development and attainment.

Whilst there is no doubt that this is a challenging position, this role will enable the applicant to develop their behaviour management skills. The school urges those who are thinking about becoming teachers in the future to apply, as this will act as outstanding preparation before enrolling onto a PGCE or related teacher training course.

Pay hourly for this position:

  • GBP10 - GBP15 per hour.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
