Behaviour Support Assistant

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant to work in Specialist Setting based in Fulford, York. This schools provides an education for students who have been excluded from mainstream school. The student's needs vary from SEMH to ASC, ADHD and EAL. The School has primary and secondary provisions, with opportunities available for 1:1, small group or General Teaching Assistant positions.

We are looking for those who ideally hold a Team Teach Certificate, or be prepared to train for one and have a passion for working with young people aged 4 - 11 or 12 - 19. The work is very rewarding; however it can also be challenging, so you need to be resilient, clam, composed and have the ability to manage challenging behaviour in the School. Many students have challenging home lives and have complex communication needs, learning difficulties or are autistic and some occasionally present some challenging behaviours.

Teaching Personnel has been placing teaching professionals in a range of settings for many years. We currently have over 15000 candidates registered across England Wales.

Teaching Personnel adheres to the following policies and guidelines;

* A Child Only DBS on the Update Service
* Two professional references from your most recent employment
* Someone who is committed to the safeguarding of young people

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
