Behaviour Support Assistant

Job description

We are seeking a committed, resilient and enthusiastic Behaviour Support Assistant to join our one of our partnered secondary schools' Provisions Unit, on a maternity cover basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to support students who require additional behavioural, emotional and pastoral support to help them engage positively with learning and achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with social, emotional and behavioural needs within the Provisions Unit
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff and families
  • Promote positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation
  • Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support student progress
  • Provide supervision and intervention support both in and outside the classroom
  • Help create a safe, structured and supportive learning environment

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working with young people with behavioural or additional needs
  • Be calm, patient and able to de-escalate challenging situations effectively
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Be flexible, proactive and passionate about supporting vulnerable students
  • Have a good understanding of safeguarding and inclusion practices

This post is offered on a fixed-term maternity cover contract.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
