Behaviour Support Assistant

Location:

Yorkshire and the Humber, West Yorkshire, Leeds, LS15

Job Type:

Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours

Salary:

£85 - £100 Per day

Job Duties:

  • Provide support to children with challenging behaviour in an educational setting
  • Assist in implementing behaviour management strategies as directed by the teaching staff
  • Work one-on-one or in small groups to help pupils develop positive behaviour patterns
  • Observe and record pupil behaviour to provide feedback to teaching staff
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to create individualised behaviour plans

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working with individuals with challenging behaviour
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Basic understanding of behaviour management techniques

Education:

Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths

Experience:

Prior experience in a similar role within an educational setting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies
  • Ability to build rapport with students and establish positive relationships
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certification in behaviour management or teaching assistance
  • Experience working with special educational needs students

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily in a school environment
  • May involve dealing with challenging behaviour and emotional situations
  • Full-time hours, Monday to Friday

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
