Job description

Teaching Personnel are supporting primary schools in the M40 area that are looking to appoint a dedicated Behaviour Mentor. These schools are committed to creating calm, nurturing environments where every child can thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.

In this role, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support with behaviour, emotional regulation, and social development. Much of your day will involve providing 1:1 guidance or small-group mentoring, helping pupils develop resilience, self-regulation, and positive interactions with others. You’ll work alongside teachers, pastoral staff, and external agencies to put effective behaviour strategies in place and will contribute to behaviour plans and progress reviews. Creating a positive, encouraging atmosphere across the school will be at the heart of your work.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children with behavioural or social–emotional needs and will bring patience, empathy, and strong relationship‑building skills. You should feel confident working independently and as part of a wider team, with strong communication and organisational abilities. A genuine commitment to supporting the school’s values and promoting pupil wellbeing is essential.

In return, the schools offer a supportive and welcoming working environment, opportunities for continued professional development, and the chance to make a significant difference in the lives of young people.
