Pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour

We are currently seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to work full-time in a specialist educational setting in Blackburn with Darwen, supporting pupils with additional behavioural and emotional needs.

• 8:00am – 3:20pm, Monday to Friday

The Role:
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils to manage their behaviour, engage with learning, and develop positive relationships. You will work closely with teaching staff and the wider support team to maintain a calm, structured, and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing 1:1 and small group behaviour support

• Implementing firm but fair expectations

• Using strong behaviour management strategies

• Building positive rapport with pupils

• Supporting emotional regulation and resilience

• Acting as a positive role model at all times

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Strong behaviour management skills

• The ability to build trust and rapport quickly

• Resilience, patience, and consistency

• A sense of humour and positive attitude

• Confidence in setting boundaries and maintaining structure

Relevant Backgrounds Considered:

• Support work or youth work

• Personal or lived experience

• Military or uniformed services background

• Degree in Psychology, Criminology, or a related field

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
