What Does a Behaviour Support Assistant Do?

As a Behaviour Support Assistant within a secondary school setting, you will:

  • Support students with behavioural, emotional, and social needs.
  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Build strong relationships with students to encourage positive behavioural choices.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral teams, and senior leaders.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and mentoring sessions.
  • Support students both in the classroom and through one-to-one sessions.
  • Assist with behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
  • Promote student wellbeing, attendance, engagement, and achievement.
  • Encourage resilience, confidence, and emotional regulation.
  • Help students stay focused, motivated, and engaged in their education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
