We're recruiting dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Assistants to support children with Autism (ASD), ADHD, Additional Learning Needs (ALN), SEMH, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and challenging behaviour across specialist schools and provisions throughout Swansea and Carmarthenshire.

These pupils require positive role models, consistency, patience and encouragement to help them regulate emotions, develop confidence, build relationships and engage with learning. Whether your background is in education, care, mental health or support work, this is an opportunity to make a genuine impact while building valuable experience in a highly rewarding sector.

 

 

The Role

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a key role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve success both inside and outside the classroom.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Assisting children with Autism, ADHD and complex learning needs
  • Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour
  • Supporting emotional regulation and wellbeing
  • Encouraging communication, engagement and independence
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Supporting learning activities within the classroom
  • Working closely with teachers and specialist support staff

No two days are the same, making this an engaging and highly rewarding role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
