Behaviour Management Teaching Assistant – Tonypandy

Location: Tonypandy (Rhondda Cynon Taf)
Contract: Full Time / Part Time, until the end of the academic year
Pay Rate: £89.38 per day (£13.75ph)
Start Date: Immediate / As soon as possible

Teaching Personnel are recruiting experienced Behaviour Management Teaching Assistants to join a large, well‑established all‑through school in Tonypandy, supporting pupils across both primary and secondary phases. If you have a background in behaviour support, youth work, care, coaching or SEN, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact every day.

This is a welcoming, inclusive and community‑focused school that supports pupils aged 3–16. Staff work collaboratively to create a safe, structured and nurturing environment where pupils can thrive academically and emotionally. The school has a strong pastoral ethos and offers excellent support for staff working with pupils who present behavioural, social or emotional needs.


About the Role

  • Support pupils across Primary and Secondary classrooms
  • Provide behaviour regulation support for pupils with SEMH, ADHD, ASD or challenging behaviour
  • Assist with de‑escalation, emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Work 1:1 or in small groups to help pupils re‑engage with learning
  • Support teachers with classroom routines, interventions and behaviour plans
  • Build strong, trusting relationships to help pupils feel safe, understood and motivated
  • Promote a calm, structured and supportive learning environment

We’re Looking for Someone Who Is:

  • Experienced in behaviour management or supporting young people
  • Calm, patient and confident in challenging situations
  • Able to build rapport quickly with pupils and staff
  • Adaptable, resilient and proactive in the classroom
  • Passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
  • Experienced with SEN/ALN (beneficial but not essential)

Requirements

Teaching Personnel can support you with obtaining:

  • Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
  • Two recent, relevant references

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
