Teaching Assistant – Flexible Work Across RCT Schools

Primary & Secondary Settings
£120 per day equivalent | Paid weekly
Rhondda Cynon Taf (multiple school locations)

This role offers you the chance to make a difference every day — in a variety of supportive school settings across Rhondda Cynon Taf.

We’re looking for adaptable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants who can travel to multiple schools, providing high‑quality support wherever it’s needed. If you enjoy variety, building new relationships, and learning from different classrooms, this is a perfect fit.


The Role

As a Teaching Assistant working across multiple RCT schools, you’ll play a key role in supporting teaching and learning. No two days will be the same — but your impact will be.

You’ll support with:

  • Classroom assistance across a range of age groups
  • Helping pupils stay focused, motivated, and on task
  • Working 1:1 or with small groups when required
  • Supporting pupils with additional learning needs
  • Preparing resources and assisting with classroom routines
  • Promoting positive behaviour and consistent school expectations
  • Following safeguarding and school policies in every placement

This varied role is ideal for someone who enjoys a dynamic work week and thrives in different school environments.

  • Education or childcare
  • Youth work, mentoring, or coaching
  • Support roles in community or care settings
  • Any role requiring patience, communication, and empathy

  • Able to build quick rapport with pupils and staff
  • Organised, reliable, and supportive
  • Interested in progressing into teaching or SEN roles

What You’ll Need

Before starting, you’ll need (or be happy to apply for):

  • EWC registration (Support Staff category)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
  • Two recent references

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
