Pay Rate: £110-£120 per day
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a Behaviour Classroom Lead to join one of our secondary schools in Newport. This role combines classroom supervision with behaviour support, making it ideal for confident individuals who can build positive relationships with young people and maintain a productive learning environment.
As a Behaviour Classroom Lead, you will supervise classes during teacher absences while supporting students to remain engaged, focused, and on task. You will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour across the school and helping students develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed.
This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring teachers, behaviour mentors, youth workers, sports coaches, or experienced support staff looking to progress their career within education.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of secondary subjects
- Leading classes in the absence of the regular teacher
- Managing classroom behaviour effectively and consistently
- Supporting students who may require additional behavioural or emotional support
- Building positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and participation
- Implementing behaviour strategies in line with school policies
- Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and senior leaders
- Creating a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment

- Be confident managing groups of secondary-aged students
- Have strong communication and relationship-building skills

Experience within education, youth work, mentoring, sports coaching, behaviour support, or care settings would be highly beneficial.

Requirements
To be considered for the role, you will need:
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
- A minimum of two professional references covering the last 24 months
- To be aged 18 or over
- A willingness to complete safeguarding training as part of the onboarding process
