Location: Newport, South Wales
Contract: Full-time / Part-time / Long-term
Start Date: September 2026
Pay: £110–£120 per day
Hours: 08:30–15:30, Monday to Friday

Teaching Personnel are looking for enthusiastic graduates, aspiring teachers and confident individuals to join secondary schools across Newport as Classroom Learning Leaders.
You don't need to have worked in a school before. What matters most is your confidence, communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with young people.
What will you be doing?
As a Classroom Learning Leader, you'll help keep learning on track when the usual teacher is unavailable.
Your day could include:
- Delivering pre-prepared lessons to secondary pupils
- Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
- Supporting pupils with their classwork and encouraging participation
- Building positive relationships with students
- Helping pupils stay focused, motivated and engaged
- Working alongside teaching staff and the wider school team
- Gaining valuable hands-on classroom experience before moving into teacher training
Who are we looking for?
This role could be a great fit if you are:
- A recent graduate or university student
- Considering a PGCE, teacher training or teaching career
- Confident communicating with young people
- Calm and able to manage challenging situations
- Organised, reliable and professional
- Passionate about education and helping young people succeed
- Experienced in coaching, mentoring, youth work, tutoring or working with children — although this isn't essential
We're particularly interested in graduates from subjects such as Psychology, English, Maths, Sports Science, History, Sociology, Criminology, Science and other degree backgrounds.

No previous classroom experience?

If you've got the right attitude, confidence and willingness to learn, we'll support you with the training and guidance you need to get started.
You'll need to be 18+, have the right to work in the UK and be willing to complete an Enhanced DBS check and EWC registration where required.
