Secondary Teaching Assistant – The Role

As a Secondary Teaching Assistant in Bath, you will:

  • Support pupils in KS3, KS4, and KS5 classrooms

  • Work 1:1 or with small groups of students

  • Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management

  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment

  • Support students with additional needs, including SEN where required

  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, and support teams

No formal Teaching Assistant qualifications or school experience are required. We are looking for people who:

  • Are reliable, confident, and approachable

  • Can be proactive and adaptable in a secondary school environment

  • Come from a care, support work, youth work, or residential background – this experience often transfers extremely well into secondary schools

  • Have SEN experience (Special Educational Needs) – please clearly highlight this on your application
