Autism Teaching Assistant
Job description
We are seeking a patient and motivated Autism Teaching Assistant to join a specialist educational setting supporting pupils aged 5 to 16. This is a full-time role with an immediate start, ideal for someone passionate about helping children and young people with autism to thrive both academically and socially.

You will be supporting pupils with autism spectrum conditions, often alongside:

Communication and interaction difficulties

Sensory processing needs
-
Social and emotional regulation challenges
Support is personalised, consistent and centred around building confidence, independence and engagement.
Key Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one and small group support
-
Assist with structured learning and daily routines

Support communication, social interaction and emotional regulation

Work closely with teachers and support staff
What We’re Looking For

Minimum of 6 months’ childcare experience, particularly supporting children with SEN or autism

Experience within a primary or secondary setting is desirable
-
A full UK driving licence is essential due to the school’s location

Calm, empathetic and proactive approach

Right to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
