Job description

Job Title: Behaviour Mentor – 1:1 ASD Support
Location: NP19
Contract Type: Full Time
Pay: £89.38 per day (DOE)
Start Date: After October Half Term 2025

Teaching Personnel are seeking a caring, patient and resilient Behaviour Mentor to work 1:1 with a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who experiences emotional dysregulation. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s education and wellbeing.

Role Overview

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with ASD, helping them manage emotions and behaviour.

  • Build a positive, trusting relationship to encourage engagement and confidence.

  • Use consistent strategies to promote self-regulation and positive behaviour.

  • Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to deliver tailored support.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting children with ASD, SEMH or behavioural needs.

  • Strong resilience, empathy and patience.

  • Excellent communication and the ability to set clear, consistent boundaries.

  • A valid DBS (or willingness to apply).

  • Behaviour management or Autism training (desirable).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
