Job description

We are looking for autism trained and 1:1 support experienced teaching assistants for a full-time role in a special needs school in the London Borough of Ealing. Having experience in special settings is highly beneficial as you will be expected to support with learning, therapies and personal care.

You will be working in a small primary class of up to 8 pupils (severe/non-verbal autism) in a range of subjects. All pupils in the class are diagnosed with autism and due to the severity of their needs may be supported additionally using PECS, TEACCH, Multi-Sensory Approaches and/or Makaton.

They are hoping to have a trial day for successful applicants on site from Monday 1st February 2021.

Location:  Greenford - Ealing, West London

Role: Autism 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA)

Duration:  22nd February 2021 - July 2021 (may be extended)

Hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm weekdays

Pay rate: GBP65-75 per day (negotiable dependant on qualification/experience/training)

We are encouraging applicants with autism/SEN support experience in Special Need Schools, Pupil Referral Units, primary schools, nurseries or centres.

You will have the following:   

  • Minimum 1 year relevant autism/SEN experience
  • Full-time availability (Monday to Friday 8:30-4pm)
  • Based in the London Borough of Ealing or in West London
  • A valid child DBS Certificate (on the update service) that will need to be taken to the school on first day
