Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate ASC Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic SEN Primary School in Bury this September. This full-time opportunity is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and helping them develop the confidence, communication and independence they need to thrive.
Working alongside an experienced and supportive staff team, you'll play a vital role in creating positive learning experiences for pupils with a range of additional needs in a nurturing, child-centred environment.
Your Role
As an ASC Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition.
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual communication and learning needs.
- Use visual supports, structured routines and sensory strategies to promote engagement.
- Encourage emotional regulation, social interaction and independence.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to help them feel safe and confident.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and parents to achieve EHCP targets.
- Support pupils throughout the school day, including personal care where required.

- Experience working with children or young people with ASC, SEN or complex needs.
- A patient, calm and resilient approach.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
