Job description

Job Purpose

To inspire creativity and self-expression through high-quality Art and Design teaching, enabling students to develop technical skills, critical understanding, and confidence in their artistic abilities.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning

  • Plan and deliver engaging Art lessons that encourage experimentation, creativity, and independent thinking.

  • Teach a wide range of artistic techniques, media, and processes in line with curriculum and exam board requirements.

  • Support students in developing strong portfolios and coursework for GCSE and A Level assessment.

  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and inspiring studio environment that promotes creativity and risk-taking.

Assessment and Progress

  • Assess student work accurately and consistently, providing clear, constructive feedback.

  • Track progress and attainment to inform planning and targeted support.

  • Prepare students for moderation, coursework submission, and examination requirements.

Curriculum and Enrichment

  • Contribute to curriculum development and the review of schemes of work.

  • Organise displays, exhibitions, and enrichment activities that celebrate student work.

  • Support or lead extracurricular art clubs, workshops, or trips.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Maintain resources, materials, and equipment safely and effectively.

  • Engage in professional development and contribute to the wider school community.

  • Uphold safeguarding and health and safety requirements at all times.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
