ALN Teaching Assistant
Job description
Monday-Friday | 8:30am-3:30pm | Immediate Start Available
Teaching Personnel are working alongside a primary school in Penarth that is looking to appoint a full-time Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Additional Learning Needs.
The school prides itself on creating an inclusive environment where every pupil is given the support they need to achieve their potential. As part of the school's support team, you'll play a key role in helping children access learning and develop confidence both inside and outside the classroom.
The Role
You will be working closely with pupils who require additional support throughout the school day. This may include:
- Supporting children with autism and ADHD
- Delivering targeted interventions
- Working one-to-one with pupils who have identified ALN
- Supporting literacy and numeracy activities
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
- Helping pupils develop social and emotional skills
- Liaising with teachers and the school's ALNCo
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience supporting children with ALN
- Understanding of additional learning needs and inclusive practice
- Patient, nurturing and approachable
- Strong communication skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team

This role would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant, support worker, care professional or anyone with relevant experience working with children who require additional support.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
