SEND Administrative Assistant

Mainstream Secondary School | Clitheroe, Lancashire
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Hours: Full-time, term-time only
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are seeking a highly organised and compassionate SEND Administrative Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Clitheroe, Lancashire, from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator who is passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and wants to play a key role within a busy and dedicated inclusion team.

The position is offered on a temporary-to-permanent basis, providing the successful candidate with the opportunity to secure a long-term role within the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the SENDCo and wider SEND team.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate and schedule Annual Reviews, SEND meetings, and parent/carer appointments.
  • Assist with the administration of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and SEND documentation.
  • Liaise professionally with parents, staff, external agencies, and local authorities.
  • Update and manage SEND databases and monitoring systems.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, meeting minutes, and documentation as required.
  • Support the organisation of interventions and provision tracking across the school.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Previous administrative experience, ideally within a school, education, or SEND setting.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • The ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of SEND processes, EHCPs, or school administration would be advantageous but is not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
