Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Do you have the skills and dedication to support pupils with ADHD in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment? Teaching Personnel is seeking a compassionate and motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream secondary school in Manchester starting in September 2024.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to pupils with ADHD, ensuring their individual needs are met.
  • Assist in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Support pupils in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour.
  • Assist with classroom activities, ensuring all pupils can access the curriculum.
  • Promote a positive and nurturing learning environment that fosters independence and confidence.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with ADHD or other special educational needs (SEN) is essential.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with students with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEN support are desirable but not essential.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
