Ad Hoc SEN Teaching Assistant – Schools in and around Camberley
Location: Camberley, Surrey
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Position Type: Ad Hoc / Flexible Supply (flexibility on the number of days you work)
Start Date: Ongoing
Salary: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)
We are currently seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistants to support schools in Camberley on an ad hoc / flexible basis. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and are looking for flexible work within local schools.
About the Role
As an Ad Hoc SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work across a range of primary and secondary schools in Camberley, providing support to pupils with special educational needs. Assignments may vary from day-to-day cover to short-term placements depending on school requirements. The working hours are 8:30am – 3:30pm, with flexibility around how many days you would like to work each week.
Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties

Assist the class teacher with adapting learning materials and activities

Support pupils’ emotional, social, and academic development

Help maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment

Implement strategies outlined in EHCPs and individual support plans
Requirements

Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs (school-based experience preferred)

A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Ability to adapt quickly to different school environments

An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
