A-Level Science Teacher – Rotherham

Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time / Long-term
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking an enthusiastic and committed A-Level Science Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive school in Rotherham. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Science Teacher to join a school where high-quality teaching, strong relationships and academic achievement are highly valued.

The successful candidate will have experience teaching Science at A-Level and will be confident delivering engaging, challenging and well-structured lessons that inspire students to achieve their full potential.

The Role

  • Teach A-Level Science to students across Post-16.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, challenging and differentiated lessons.
  • Prepare students effectively for examinations and assessments.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Develop students' subject knowledge, confidence and independent learning skills.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom expectations.
  • Work collaboratively with the Science department and wider teaching team.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Have proven experience teaching Science at A-Level.
  • Have a strong subject knowledge and passion for Science.
  • Be confident preparing students for A-Level examinations.
  • Have excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Be able to differentiate effectively to meet the needs of individual learners.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Be reliable, adaptable and committed to delivering high-quality teaching.
  • Have a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
