Experienced Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support – Year 4)
Location: Sunderland
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time only (Long-term role until end of academic year)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Sunderland to recruit an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil in Year 4.

The Role:
We are seeking a confident and adaptable Teaching Assistant who can work effectively on a 1-1 basis, supporting a pupil with additional needs. The successful candidate must be proactive, able to use their initiative, and flexible in their approach to meet the pupil's individual needs throughout the school day.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has previous experience working as a TA, ideally in a 1-1 capacity

  • Demonstrates the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

  • Is confident in using their initiative and responding to pupil needs dynamically

  • Is patient, empathetic, and resilient

  • Can adapt strategies to support learning, behaviour, and emotional development

Requirements:

  • Relevant TA qualifications or equivalent experience

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)

  • Able to provide professional references

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
