1:1 Teaching Assistant - Plymouth

We are working with an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ Primary school in Plymouth to source a 1:1 Teaching Assistant. This is a full-time role with potential to go permanent. You will be supporting a young student who has had a traumatic background and needs someone who can build a great relationship with him and help him access the curriculum and ideally be happy working alongside his peers within the classroom. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to gain greater understanding and experience supporting children who have experienced trauma, as well as a really rewarding role where you are having a huge impact on a young person’s life.

If you are someone who has experience working with young people who have SEND or challenging behaviour, then these skills are very much transferable. You will have on going support from the school as well as an educational psychologist.

The successful candidate will:
-Be patient and understanding
-Will be a creative practitioner who is able to adjust learning to the needs of your student
-hold an enhanced childcare DBS on the update service or be happy to apply for one
-Be happy for us to contact 2 relevant educational references graded good or above

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
