Are you a patient, caring and passionate Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new opportunity?
We are currently recruiting for a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 pupil at a welcoming mainstream primary school in Christchurch.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys helping children overcome barriers to learning and wants to make a meaningful difference every day.
The Role
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide dedicated support to a Year 5 pupil, helping them to feel confident, included and able to access their learning.
You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide consistent support, encourage independence and help the pupil get the most from their time at school.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 support throughout the school day.
- Helping the pupil access the curriculum and engage with classroom activities.
- Supporting their emotional wellbeing, confidence and self-esteem.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and independence.
- Supporting social interaction and inclusion with peers.
- Following individual support strategies and working alongside the class teacher and SENCO.
- Creating a positive, calm and nurturing environment where the pupil can thrive.

Previous SEN experience is highly desirable, but we are also happy to consider candidates with relevant transferable experience, including youth work, care, support work or previous experience working with children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
