Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs? We are currently recruiting dedicated and resilient 1:1 Support Workers to work within SEN and SEMH schools across the Skelmersdale area.

This rewarding role involves providing individual support to pupils with a range of special educational needs, social, emotional and mental health difficulties, and challenging behaviours. You will play a key role in helping students engage with learning, develop confidence, and achieve their potential both inside and outside the classroom.

The Role:

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support to pupils within the classroom and around the school environment.
• Supporting students with SEN, SEMH, ASD, ADHD and other additional needs.
• Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner.
• Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation.
• Building positive relationships and acting as a consistent role model.
• Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support student progress.

What We're Looking For:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN/SEMH needs is desirable.
• Backgrounds in support work, care, youth work, sports coaching, mentoring, or similar roles are welcomed.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A patient, resilient and proactive approach.
• Ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
• Commitment to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable young people.
