1:1 KS2 Teaching Assistant | BS40 | From £90 per day

Are you a caring and patient Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding 1:1 role in a supportive primary school?

We are working closely with a friendly, welcoming primary school in the BS40 area that is seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a lovely child in KS2 with autism who requires additional support.

The Role

- Provide consistent 1:1 support to a KS2 pupil with autism
- Support access to learning, helping the child to engage with classroom activities and the curriculum
- Implement strategies to promote independence, emotional regulation and positive behaviour
- Adapt tasks and resources to meet the child’s individual needs and learning style
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals to follow support plans
- Build a trusting, positive relationship with the pupil and contribute to their social and emotional development
- Help maintain a calm, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment

What We Are Looking For

- Experience working with children in a primary school, ideally in a 1:1 or SEN role
- Understanding of autism and strategies that support pupils with additional needs
- Patient, empathetic and able to build strong, supportive relationships
- Good communication skills and a proactive, flexible approach
- Relevant SEN or Teaching Assistant experience or qualifications highly desirable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
