Job description

We're Hiring: 1:1 Functional Skills Tutor

Are you passionate about helping others build essential life skills and reach their full potential? We're looking for a dedicated and approachable Functional Skills Tutor to deliver high-quality 1:1 support in English and/or Maths.

Location: Nottingham (NG16 and surrounding areas)

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Delivering engaging 1:1 tutoring sessions in English and/or Maths

  • Creating tailored learning plans and resources based on individual needs

  • Tracking progress and providing regular feedback and encouragement

  • Supporting learners with barriers to learning, promoting positive outcomes

  • Maintaining accurate records in line with safeguarding and data protection policies

What We’re Looking For:

  • A teaching or tutoring qualification (e.g., PTLLS, DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent)

  • Experience teaching Functional Skills (or similar literacy/numeracy programmes)

  • A kind, patient, and flexible approach to teaching

  • Strong communication and organisational skills

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting learner wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
