We are looking for youth workers to support young people within a specialised setting, many of these young people being excluded from mainstream education. These young people have additional needs in some form such as SEMH, being school refusers, anxiety, or other mental health issues. As a result, they need a positive reinforcement, patience and care to guide them back into education or further education and training from a mentor or youth worker.
These pupils are secondary aged between 11-16. These young people will already be supported by either the school or their Local Education Authority but will need additional one-to-one support. The ideal youth workers would have:

- Evidence of making a positive impact in young people’s lives.
- A calm and dedicated personality
- Desirable to have experience with challenging behaviour.
To be successful in your application, you must be able to provide evidence of this as skills and experience.
Please be aware that all applicants will be subject to background checks and will need a current DBS certificate (update service registered). Teaching Personnel can support your application should this be required.
Working hours are between Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm approximately, but you may be offered additional duties and responsibilities outside of these hours.
Benefits of working with Teaching Personnel:
- A dedicated consultant to discuss current or future roles with you.
- Payment in house, meaning no fees from Umbrella companies.
- 13 weeks off per year
