An excellent primary school in Barry is seeking a confident and experienced Year 6 Teacher to join their team on a full-time maternity cover basis starting in June for the full academic year.

This is a key role within the school, and they are looking for a teacher who can confidently lead a Year 6 class through their final year of primary education, including preparation for SATs and transition into secondary school.

The Role:
You will take full responsibility for a Year 6 class, delivering engaging and structured lessons that drive progress and attainment. You’ll be expected to hit the ground running, maintain high expectations, and support pupils both academically and emotionally during this important stage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum
• Prepare pupils effectively for SATs and end-of-year assessments
• Track and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching where needed
• Create a positive, focused, and supportive classroom environment
• Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and leadership

What We’re Looking For:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Proven experience teaching Year 6
• Strong understanding of SATs preparation and expectations
• Excellent behaviour management skills
• A confident, organised, and resilient approach
