Job description

We are seeking a committed and talented Year 5 Teacher to join our friendly and supportive primary school as part of a maternity cover position. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner to teach a vibrant KS2 class and contribute to a school environment that values creativity, enthusiasm, and high standards.

Year 5 Teacher – Maternity Cover

Location: Colne area (BB8)
Contract: Full-time, Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)
Start Date: September 2026 (or earlier for transition periods)

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons aligned to the Year 5 curriculum
  • Provide a supportive, inclusive learning environment where every pupil can thrive
  • Plan, mark and assess effectively to ensure strong pupil progress

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with pupils, parents and staff

  • A qualified teacher with experience or strong understanding of KS2

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
