Year 3 Teaching Assistant
Job description
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our friendly Year 3 team. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils’ learning and wellbeing, helping every child reach their full potential.
Job Title: Part-time Year 3 Teaching Assistant
Location: Burnley
Contract: Part-time
Start Date: Monday 1st September 2026
Salary: £14.25 - £15 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Support teaching and learning within the Year 3 classroom
- Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning objectives
- Assist pupils with literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum activities
- Support children’s social, emotional and behavioural development
- Help prepare learning resources and classroom displays
- Promote positive behaviour in line with the school’s policies
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with children of primary school age (ideally Key Stage 2)
- A patient, flexible and positive approach to supporting learning
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine interest in children’s development and education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
