Year 3 Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our friendly Year 3 team. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils’ learning and wellbeing, helping every child reach their full potential.

Location: Burnley
Contract: Part-time
Start Date: Monday 1^st September 2026
Salary: £14.25 - £15 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning within the Year 3 classroom
• Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning objectives
• Assist pupils with literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum activities
• Support children’s social, emotional and behavioural development
• Help prepare learning resources and classroom displays
• Promote positive behaviour in line with the school’s policies
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience working with children of primary school age (ideally Key Stage 2)
• A patient, flexible and positive approach to supporting learning
• Good literacy and numeracy skills
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A genuine interest in children’s development and education
