Job Advert: Year 3 Class Teacher (M1–M6) – Salisbury

Start Date: After Easter 2026
Salary: Main Pay Scale (M1–M6) – paid to scale
Location: Salisbury, Wiltshire

We are seeking an enthusiastic, resilient and nurturing Year 3 Class Teacher to join our supportive team in Salisbury after Easter. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher to make a real difference in a vibrant and rewarding Key Stage 2 setting.

About the Role

The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 3 class which benefits from the consistent support of a full-time Teaching Assistant. The class includes pupils who require additional support, so applicants should have a strong understanding of SEN needs and be confident in managing behavioural challenges using positive and restorative approaches.

This role would suit someone who is:

  • Calm, patient and consistent in their behaviour management
  • Experienced or confident in supporting pupils with additional needs (including ASD, ADHD, SEMH)
  • Committed to creating an inclusive, structured and engaging learning environment
  • A strong team player who works well with support staff and external professionals

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the National Curriculum
  • Adapt teaching to meet a range of learning needs, including SEN
  • Build positive relationships with pupils to promote progress and wellbeing
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning
  • Work collaboratively with the Teaching Assistant to support all learners
  • Liaise effectively with parents, colleagues, and external agencies

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience in KS2 (Year 3 desirable but not essential)
  • A secure understanding of SEN strategies and inclusive teaching
  • Confidence managing behaviour in a positive, proactive way
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Vetting and Safeguarding

This position is being recruited through Teaching Personnel. All applicants will be subject to full safeguarding and vetting procedures in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE), including:

  • Enhanced DBS check (with barred list check)
  • Two professional references (one must be from the most recent employer)
  • Verification of identity and right to work in the UK
  • Qualification checks
  • Overseas police checks (where applicable)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
