Job Title: Year 2 Teacher

Location: Darwen

Length of Role: 1 year – Starting in September 2026

Pay Rate: Main Pay Scale

Setting: Mainstream Primary School

A vibrant primary school in Darwen is looking for an experienced Year 2 Teacher to join their team for the full academic year starting in September. This role is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about supporting pupils through a key stage transition and preparing them for KS2.

You will deliver creative and structured lessons, support SATs preparation, and foster a positive learning atmosphere where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and well‑structured lessons

  • Prepare pupils for end‑of‑KS1 assessments

  • Track and monitor progress to ensure strong outcomes

  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families

  • Contribute to wider school life and initiatives

Requirements:

  • QTS and recent KS1 teaching experience

  • Strong knowledge of Year 2 curriculum and assessment

  • Ability to motivate and inspire young learners
