Job Title: Year 1 Teacher

Location: Blackburn

Length of Role: 1 year – Starting in September 2026

Pay Rate: Main Pay Scale

Setting: Mainstream Primary School

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Blackburn. This is a full‑time position beginning in September and continuing for the full academic year.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons that support early learning, phonics development, and the transition from EYFS to Key Stage 1. You will work closely with a supportive leadership team and contribute to a positive, nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high‑quality lessons aligned with the national curriculum

  • Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development

  • Maintain strong classroom management and a safe learning environment

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents

  • Assess and track pupil progress effectively

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching within Key Stage 1

  • Strong understanding of early literacy and numeracy development

  • Commitment to inclusive and engaging teaching

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
