Experienced Year 2 Teacher – Blackpool (FY4)

Are you an experienced and fully qualified Year 2 teacher with a passion for education and a proven track record of raising attainment? Do you have a strong understanding of phonics schemes and a commitment to creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

Position: Experienced Year 2 Teacher
Location: Blackpool (FY4)
Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary
Start Date: September 2026
End Date: July 2027

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Year 2 curriculum and recognised phonics schemes.
  • Create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and fosters a love of learning.
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing clear and constructive feedback to both students and parents.
  • Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to support the diverse needs of learners.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and school leadership to support the wider development of the school.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with substantial experience teaching in Year 2.
  • Demonstrable success in raising attainment and delivering strong pupil outcomes.
  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience of delivering phonics schemes.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and high-quality teaching practice.

Salary:

The daily rate for this role is £130–£160, which may be subject to change after the 12-week qualifying period in line with Agency Workers Regulations (AWR).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
