KS1 Teacher (Year 1/2)
Teaching Personnel are working with supportive and welcoming schools in the Shepton Mallet area, who are seeking a dedicated KS1 teacher for the new academic year. This part-time role will initially be temporary, allowing both you and the school to ensure a strong fit.
Location: Shepton Mallet, Somerset
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: Paid to scale (M1–M6)
Start Date: September 2026
The Role
You will take on full class teacher responsibilities, including planning, preparation, and assessment. You’ll deliver engaging lessons in line with the KS1 National Curriculum, while creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality KS1 lessons
- Assess and track pupil progress
- Support early literacy and numeracy development
- Promote positive behaviour and pupil wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with staff and parents
What We’re Looking For
- QTS (or equivalent)
- Experience within KS1
- Strong classroom management and planning skills
- A proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic approach
An enhanced DBS on the update service is required (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
