Are you a Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding full-time role in a supportive primary school? Do you have experience working with Early Years or Reception-aged children and a passion for helping young learners flourish?
We are recruiting for a Welsh Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and highly regarded Welsh-medium primary school in the SA2 area of Swansea. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity starting on 1st September, supporting a vibrant Reception class throughout the academic year.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a school community that places children at the heart of everything it does, promoting wellbeing, inclusion, respect and a love of learning. You'll work alongside an experienced class teacher to provide engaging support that helps every child develop confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning.
The Role
As a Welsh Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support the Reception class teacher with engaging Welsh-medium lessons.

Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions.
-
Encourage language, literacy, numeracy and communication development.

Support children's social, emotional and behavioural development.
-
Assist with play-based learning activities both indoors and outdoors.

Prepare classroom resources and maintain a stimulating learning environment.

Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
-
Help ensure every child feels valued, supported and able to achieve their full potential.
The Ideal Welsh Teaching Assistant Will Have
-
Fluent Welsh language skills (essential).
-
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or within an Early Years or Primary School setting.

A caring, enthusiastic and proactive approach.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
-
The ability to support children's learning through creative and engaging activities.
-
A genuine passion for Welsh-medium education.
-
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Eligibility to work in the UK.
