Welsh Teaching Assistant
Job description
Teaching Personnel is seeking a Welsh-medium Primary Teaching Assistant to work full-time in a primary school in the Pontypool area. This role is to start ASAP and will run on an ongoing basis, with the potential to continue through to September depending on performance and school needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced Teaching Assistants and those looking to further develop their experience within a supportive Welsh-medium environment.
DETAILS
Location – Pontypool area
Position – Full-Time Teaching Assistant (Welsh-medium)
Type of work – General classroom support
Start date – ASAP
Duration – Ongoing, with potential to continue through to September
Full-time – Monday to Friday
Minimum rate of pay – From £92.63 per day
Hours – School hours (8:30am – 3:00pm)
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is desirable
Fluency in Welsh is essential
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) are advantageous
Up-to-date Safeguarding training (within the last year) is preferred – we can provide this free of charge
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH TEACHING PERSONNEL, YOU MUST:
Hold the Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to apply for one
Provide two professional references covering the last two years, relating to work with children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
