Job Description:

We are looking to appoint a nurturing, enthusiastic, and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs at our welcoming and inclusive primary school in Wellingborough, starting September 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with a variety of needs and helping them to thrive both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, communication and language difficulties, and social/emotional needs.

• Assist the class teacher and SENCo in delivering tailored interventions and learning programmes.

• Support children in accessing the curriculum and fully engaging in school life.

• Help implement and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.

• Encourage independence, confidence, and progress through positive reinforcement and structured routines.

• Contribute to a safe, happy, and inclusive learning environment.

Essential Requirements:

• Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (school-based experience preferred).

• A strong understanding of SEND support strategies and differentiated learning.

• Patience, empathy, and excellent behaviour management skills.

• Ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and families.

• Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, TA qualification, or equivalent) are advantageous but not essential with relevant experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
