The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of additional needs, ensuring they can fully engage with their learning and achieve their personal goals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN.
- Assisting with the delivery of personalised learning activities.
- Supporting children's emotional wellbeing and social development.
- Encouraging engagement, independence, and confidence.
- Helping to manage behaviour positively and effectively.
- Contributing to the implementation of EHCPs and individual support plans.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with children with SEN or in a similar support role however, this is not mandatory.
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
- Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential for candidates with suitable experience.
