Teaching Personnel are looking for Unqualified Teachers / Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across the Vale of Glamorgan.

This is an excellent opportunity for university students, graduates and those considering a career in teaching to gain valuable classroom experience while maintaining complete flexibility over when they work.

The role is also ideally suited to experienced youth workers, sports coaches, instructors and people with experience working with young people who are looking to transfer their existing skills into a school environment.

Why become a Cover Supervisor?

Teaching Personnel offer free, comprehensive, in-person training for all staff who aspire to become Cover Supervisors / Future Teachers.

As a Cover Supervisor, you'll have the flexibility to choose when you work, allowing you to fit school-based work around your existing commitments.

You can work as little or as often as you like, with opportunities to work up to 5 days per week depending on your availability and school requirements.

You'll gain genuine experience working within secondary classrooms, supporting pupils and developing valuable behaviour management, communication and leadership skills.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising classes in the absence of the usual teacher
• Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials and ensuring pupils remain engaged
• Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
• Supporting pupils with their classwork and learning activities
• Ensuring students follow school expectations and routines
• Providing feedback to teaching staff where appropriate
• Building positive relationships with pupils and school staff
• Supporting the smooth running of the school day

You will not be required to plan or mark lessons, making this an ideal opportunity for those looking to gain classroom experience without committing to a full teaching role.
