Unqualified Teaching Assistant

Location: Chepstow & Monmouth
Contract: Full-time, Part-time & Flexible
Pay: Weekly pay
Start Date: September 2026


Are you based in Chepstow, Monmouth or the surrounding areas and interested in working with children?

Teaching Personnel are recruiting Unqualified Teaching Assistants to support our Primary schools across Monmouthshire from September 2026.

This is one of our busiest areas for school staffing, and we are looking to build a strong pool of local people who are interested in starting a career in education.

No qualifications or school experience are required.

If you have a positive attitude, enjoy working with children and are willing to learn, we would love to hear from you.


About the Role

• Support children across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
• Work alongside teachers to support learning in the classroom
• Provide 1:1 and small group support where needed
• Help pupils stay engaged and focused throughout the school day
• Support children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN/SEN)
• Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment

ALN/SEN Support

Many of our schools support children with:
• Autism (ASC)
• ADHD
• Speech and Language Needs
• Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
• Learning difficulties

Don't worry if you haven't worked with these needs before — full support and training will be provided.


Training & Support Provided

• Free online CPD courses
• Safeguarding training
• Team Teach behaviour management training
• Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant
• Assistance with DBS and EWC registration

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
